Welcome, my name is Jason Calderon, I'm dermatologist from University of Florida (U.S.). I want to share in this blog methods to control hyperhidrosis, and my experience in various treatments. I hope to help!

Compensatory Sweat

Compensatory SweatCompensatory sweat is a strange behavior of the body, manifested in nearly 70% of individuals, and in 99% of persons suffering hyperhidrosis. Sweat is basically compensatory accumulation of sweat on a body part in which there is no sweat, you sweat more than usual in this area, ie to stop sweating in any part of the body, the sweat will stop in another area.

This phenomenon is very common in people who fail to control underarm sweating, and sweat will stop controlled in the back, forehead or buttocks. This happens because when we sweat, the body releases toxins and fluid to hydrate the skin, the sweat can not be stopped, can be controlled in a body part but there will always be released.

The compensatory sweating is a natural response of the body, so it can not be fixed, and it's better this way because it is worse than the sweat want to be released and can not leave the body.

Now, this problem has a solution, but this solution is a bit radical. In a previous post talk about the sympathectomy, this is a surgical method that removes the in the sweat glands of the body, I I promote this method because it is a permanent solution to excessive sweating. But I also recommend trying to control hyperhidrosis and leave this method as a last resort. The compensatory sweating is not a big problem, so you can easily tolerate. But if you're unhappy with this, you can think of the aforementioned method.
